REPORT ON LAND
SURVEYORS MEETING
The ISTT held a meeting
on Sunday 3 September 2006, to disseminate four technical papers
and to discuss professional fees. The technical papers were
well received and invited many questions and comments. These
papers were:
-
‘Contouring Software’ by Hakeeb Nandalal
-
‘Configuring a hand-held GPS to read
local co-ordinates’ by Glenn Wilkes
-
‘Effect of
precisely-determined land areas on property values and their
valuation’ by Robert Beard and
-
‘International Maritime boundary
delimitation’ by Francis Charles
There was lively debate
at the discussion of professional fees. The members present
agreed to a minimum fee of $7,500 per day for a day long
project. This figure would be forwarded to the cabinet
appointed committee that requested a minimum fee to be submitted
by all the professional groups in the ISTT for use on State
required construction projects.
The meeting constituted
a CPD event and certificates to that effect will be prepared and
issued to the participants in due course.
